Best Torrents Sites (Part I)

First of all, a warning to all. P2p (peer-to-peer) file-sharing is completely legal. However, there are a lot of files traded through P2P that are copyrighted. So, like what we said on our DISCLAIMER, download at your own risk.

There are many torrents sites out there. It's up to you which one you'll keep going back to. Some are clean, some with porn and annoying popups, some are way outdated. So, because of that, we're giving you our own list of the BEST torrent sites and search engines.


Mininova is one of the largest torrents site on the web today. It has more than 280,000 torrents indexed as of June 2008.

Mininova's site is very user-friendly and we believe it's the most reliable torrent site. It's now our main torrent site and so we'll be posting links to torrents from Mininova most of the time.

The Pirate Bay is the first torrent site that we've ever used. It is also one of the largest torrent sites. And from what we know, it is the most popular of all.

Be warned, though, as The Pirate Bay's site has porn ads. And this is the best place for you to download porn as well (we know you'll like that!)

Viewing torrent information on The Pirate Bay is easier because you'll see almost everything on one page. Mininova has tabs and separate pages for comments, contents/files in the torrent, etc.

Isohunt, for us, is one of the best torrent sites. Why? Because from what we've observed, our downloads finish faster because all the trackers that "announce" the torrent file all over the web are already in the torrents you'll download from their site.

Too bad they're closing down. You can read more on their main page. So use Isohunt while you still can.

Torrents Search Engines:
Search engines are websites that locate the torrents sites where a certain file/torrent can be found. If you can't find it on your fave torrent site, use these search engines and they'll find them for you. Below are the BEST torrents search engines for us:

• Torrentz is our choice of torrents search engine. Although we encounter problems with it being down often, we love it's features such as giving you a list of trackers that have the torrent listed to help finish your downloads faster. It even gives you the trackers list on a format that you can easily copy and paste unto uTorrent's tracker list.

• Torrent-Finder - We recently learned about this site and we're glad we did. It has a wider list of torrents sites where you can search the title you're looking for. For us, though, it takes time to load so we still stick to Torrentz.
